Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello are divorcing after seven years of marriage. The couple confirmed the news in a joint statement to Page Six, which read: “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.” Sources also told Page Six, “Sofía and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future.”
Vergara, 51, and Manganiello, 46, first met in 2014 at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The actors went on to get engaged after six months together, and were married on November 22, 2015. On July 10, Manganiello posted for Vergara’s birthday on Instagram, writing simply, “¡¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!!”; and recently, Vergara has been posting photos from a birthday trip to Italy with her friends.
Vergara was previously married to Joe González, with whom she shares her son, Manolo. She was also engaged to business man Nick Loeb in 2012 before splitting in 2014.
