After more than a decade away from the director’s chair, Nancy Meyers is officially stepping back into filmmaking with a new, still-untitled project at Warner Bros—and she’s bringing a major ensemble cast with her.
The upcoming film will feature Penelope Cruz, Kieran Culkin, Jude Law, Emma Mackey, and Owen Wilson. Meyers is both writing and directing the movie, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters on Christmas Day 2027.
The new project marks Meyers first directorial effort since the Anne Hathaway-Robert De Niro comedy The Intern, ending an 11-year gap. The project was previously in development at Netflix before moving to Warner Bros., where it is now moving forward.
Details about the plot are being kept tightly under wraps, with no official synopsis released. Meyers will also produce alongside Ilona Herzberg, while Diana Pokorny serves as executive producer.
Known for beloved films like The Holiday, Somethings Gotta Give, and Its Complicated, Meyers’ return—combined with a high-profile cast—signals one of the most anticipated romantic-comedy-style projects on the horizon.
