A newly released trailer offers the first look at “The Gentleman Thief,” an action-heist thriller starring John Travolta and Lukas Haas. Directed by Randall Emmett, the film centers on Mason, a legendary thief who is persuaded by his younger brother Shawn to leave retirement for one final score: stealing a $100 million painting from a luxury yacht.
According to the film’s official synopsis, the heist ends in disaster when the yacht catches fire, leaving Mason and his crew presumed dead. Surviving the ordeal, Mason joins forces with his mysterious former lover, Odessa, to infiltrate the criminal organization led by his longtime adversary, Salzar. As he works to outmaneuver both federal authorities and his enemies, Mason prepares what is billed as his boldest and most dangerous con yet.
Alongside Travolta and Haas, the cast includes Quavo, Rebecca De Mornay, Sam Asghari and DJ Khaled. The project continues Travolta’s run of crime thrillers, once again placing him in the role of a seasoned master thief navigating increasingly dangerous criminal schemes.
“The Gentleman Thief” is scheduled to debut on digital platforms and video-on-demand on July 28 before expanding to select theaters on July 31; see the trailer: HERE.
