Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto has denied allegations of sexual assault and other sexual misconduct after a new BBC documentary featured accusations from four women who allege they were teenagers when the alleged incidents occurred. Leto called the claims “absolutely and categorically false” adding, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life.”
The documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret, includes accounts from 10 women, four of whom accuse Leto of criminal sexual conduct dating from 2002 to 2016. Among the allegations are claims of sexual assault, grooming, sexually explicit phone calls, threats of sexual violence and an alleged sexual relationship with a 17-year-old in California, where the age of consent is 18. The BBC reported that it reviewed photographs, messages, witness statements and other material that it said corroborated aspects of several accounts.
Several additional women and former associates of Leto and his band ‘Thirty Seconds to Mars’ also describe what they characterize as inappropriate interactions with young female fans, while some former staff members allege there was a pattern of bringing young women into Leto’s orbit at concerts and events. The documentary marks the latest public scrutiny surrounding the actor and musician, following a 2025 Air Mail investigation in which nine women made similar allegations that Leto also denied.
In a statement issued after the documentary’s release, Leto again rejected all allegations of wrongdoing, maintaining they are false. Neither criminal charges nor civil lawsuits related to the allegations announced in the documentary had been reported as of Wednesday. The BBC documentary has renewed attention on claims that have circulated for years, while Leto continues to deny any misconduct.
