Netflix has ordered a third season of “The Four Seasons,” the comedy-drama created by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield following the strong reception to its recently released second installment. “The Four Seasons” debuted in 2025 as a limited series, but its popularity prompted the producers to continue the story. The third season is expected to arrive in 2027, set to consist of eight episodes.
In a statement, the creators said, “We are thrilled to be able to bring a third season of The Four Seasons to life. Thank you to everyone who watched. Middle-aged people, LFG!” Netflix executive Tracey Pakosta praised the series’ blend of humor and emotion, crediting the chemistry of the ensemble cast for helping the show resonate with viewers. The series has ranked among Netflix’s Top 10 programs in 56 countries and drew more than 24 million views during its early run.
Adapted from Alan Alda’s 1981 film of the same name, the series follows a group of longtime friends whose annual vacations become increasingly complicated by changes in their personal lives. Fey stars alongside Will Forte, Colman Domingo, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Marco Calvani and Erika Henningsen. Steve Carell, whose character died at the end of the first season, appeared in the show’s earlier episodes.
Season 2 concluded with Anne, played by Kenney-Silver, remaining in Italy and encountering Gianpiero, portrayed by David Tennant in a surprise appearance. The cameo was initially championed by Fey, and the creative team has expressed enthusiasm about expanding the storyline in the upcoming season. Tennant is expected to return in a larger role, although Netflix has not announced official casting details.
