Hulu has set Sept. 3 as the premiere date for Season 2 of “Chad Powers,” with Glen Powell returning as disgraced quarterback Russ Holliday. The six-episode comedy, co-created by Powell and Michael Waldron, resumes after the dramatic Season 1 cliffhanger, when Russ’ true identity was exposed, shifting the series into higher-stakes territory while maintaining its blend of sports comedy and character-driven storytelling.
Season 1 followed Russ, a talented college quarterback whose career unraveled after a public meltdown, prompting him to don prosthetic makeup and reinvent himself as Chad Powers in an effort to revive his football dreams with the South Georgia Catfish. The first season earned praise for its offbeat humor and football action while ending with unresolved storylines that paved the way for a continuation. Production on the second season began soon after Hulu renewed the series in late 2025.
Powell told Entertainment Weekly that the new installment is “a different show in the best way,” explaining that the story evolves beyond its original fish-out-of-water premise as Russ struggles with the consequences of living a double life. Returning cast members include Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, Steve Zahn and Frankie Rodriguez. The series remains inspired by Eli Manning’s popular ESPN sketch, with Eli and Peyton Manning continuing as executive producers.
