Michael C. Hall is back as Dexter Morgan in the newly released trailer for Season 2 of “Dexter: Resurrection,” which finds the vigilante serial killer confronting new threats while beginning to reckon with his age. The second season is set to premiere Oct. 30.
The new season places Dexter between two killers: Brian Cox’s Don Framt, better known as the New York Ripper, an infamous murderer who has found a new way to torment the survivors of his victims, and Dan Stevens’ Owen Stark, the Five Borough Killer, a younger serial killer making his mark across New York. The trailer also shows Dexter continuing to follow his own code while dealing with the increasingly complicated consequences of his actions.
Dexter’s advancing age becomes an unexpected part of the story. The trailer shows him visiting an optometrist and reflecting on where his life has taken him as he enters his 50s. “I’m older. I’m wiser. Things are going to get messy but if I can’t believe in myself, I can’t believe in anything,” Dexter says in the preview.
The season also brings back Uma Thurman as Charley, who reunites with Dexter after the events of the first season, while Harrison Morgan (Jack Alcott) continues his own path toward law enforcement. Desmond Harrington is also returning as Lt. Joey Quinn, reconnecting the New York-set series with Dexter’s Miami past. Krysten Ritter is set to return as Lady Vengeance, with additional newcomers including Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson.
“Dexter: Resurrection” premiered in 2025 following “Dexter: New Blood.” The second season arrives as the franchise marks the 20th anniversary of the original “Dexter,” which debuted on Showtime on Oct. 1, 2006.
