Samuel L. Jackson’s crime drama “Frisco King” released the first trailer, with the series set to premiere Dec. 18 on Paramount+. The eight-episode series expands the world of “Tulsa King,” bringing back Jackson as Russell Lee Washington Jr., a New Orleans gangster introduced during the third season of the Sylvester Stallone-led series.
Written by Taylor Sheridan, “Frisco King” follows Lee as he moves to Frisco, Texas, where he sees opportunities to build a criminal operation beneath the surface of suburban life. With help from an ambitious protégé, a trusted driver and a collection of unconventional associates, Lee grows his small-time schemes into a larger enterprise while facing increasingly dangerous consequences. The trailer footage offers a glimpse of Lee’s next chapter and his connection to Stallone’s Dwight “The General” Manfredi. The series will debut with two episodes, followed by new installments every Friday.
The cast also includes Asa Germann, Kai Caster, Lilah Pate and Savanna Gann, with Stallone making a special appearance. Sheridan, Jackson and Stallone are among the executive producers. Christina Alexandra Voros and Michael Friedman also serve as directors, with Voros directing the premiere episode.
“Frisco King” marks the latest expansion of Sheridan’s growing slate of Paramount+ dramas, with Jackson taking center stage in a new story about ambition, organized crime and the pursuit of power in Texas.
