Paramount+ has renewed “MobLand” for a third season, confirming that Tom Hardy will return alongside Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan for another chapter of the crime drama. The announcement comes just before the Sept. 18 premiere of Season 2, and resolves months of uncertainty surrounding Hardy’s future on the series. No premiere date or episode count has been announced for the third season.
Hardy will reprise his role as Harry Da Souza, the formidable fixer for the Harrigan crime family, while Mirren and Brosnan will again play married crime bosses Maeve and Conrad Harrigan. The series, created by Ronan Bennett and Jez Butterworth and produced in association with Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, follows the family as it fights to maintain its criminal empire amid internal divisions and outside threats.
Hardy’s return is particularly notable after reports earlier this year raised questions about whether he would continue with the show. Reports cited tensions involving the actor and members of the production team, but subsequent developments indicated that discussions were underway to resolve the situation. Hardy ultimately met with producers, including Butterworth and David Glasser, with Guy Ritchie also involved in efforts to move forward.
Season 2 will consist of 10 episodes and premiere weekly on Paramount+, with the finale scheduled for Nov. 20. The upcoming season finds the Harrigans attempting to present a united front as rival forces threaten their position, while Harry becomes increasingly caught between competing interests and escalating violence.
