Apple confirmed that Zoë Kravitz has signed on to star in an untitled Apple Original Film written and directed by Megan Park, marking the latest collaboration between the filmmaker and production company LuckyChap Entertainment -the company founded by Margot Robbie and her partners. Park will also serve as an executive producer on the project.
Park’s previous credits include The Fallout and My Old Ass (the latter of which earned critical acclaim and brought the filmmaker nominations from the Directors Guild of America and Writers Guild of America). Apple Original Films secured the project following a competitive bidding process that reportedly drew interest from several major studios and streaming platforms. The film is being produced by Apple Studios, LuckyChap and FilmNation.
While the project remains untitled, industry reports have described the story as a comedy-drama centered on a woman whose life is upended when she learns her boyfriend has a secret wife and children. After the family unexpectedly appears at her door, she is forced into an unfamiliar caregiving role, leading to conflict as well as unexpected relationships. Additional casting, production details and a release date have not yet been announced.
For Kravitz, the project adds to a busy slate that includes David Leitch’s upcoming heist thriller How to Rob a Bank. The actress recently appeared in Apple TV+’s The Studio and previously made her feature directorial debut with the 2024 thriller Blink Twice.
