About the Show

Jose “JV” Velazquez serves as the Eagle Radio Overnight show host. His radio career began at the age of 14 when he walked into his freshman audio and video production class and announced “I want to do a radio show.” Shortly after high school he attended the illustrious Northeast Broadcasting School in Boston, Mass and ended up working at WILD, an Urban AM radio station as a lowly (and very happy) unpaid intern. Shortly thereafter, he joined the U.S. Army to become a broadcaster because happy unpaid interns still get hungry. Plus, JV happened to also want to serve his country. During his military career, JV worked in both radio and television positions across the globe, most notably in Seoul, South Korea where he hosted an award winning morning program called “The Morning Zoo,” Panama City, Panama where he hosted a program called “The Quiet Storm” and Washington, DC as a “serious” newscaster. His most dangerous radio gig was as the most dangerous radio DJ in Afghanistan while deployed with U.S. forces. He can’t tell you more because he’d have to kill you. JV hosts “After Midnight with JV” from midnight to 5:30 a.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday and boasts to having the most listeners in the custodial and correctional industries on radio.
