ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” has revealed the 16 celebrities who will compete for the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 35, bringing together actors, athletes, musicians, reality stars, social media personalities and a celebrity chef. The new season follows a record-setting Season 34, which ended with Robert Irwin claiming the Mirrorball Trophy.
The full cast for Season 35 was announced Wednesday on “Good Morning America,” following several contestants who had been revealed ahead of the official announcement. The lineup includes Julia Stiles, Jenna Dewan, Tatyana Ali, Taylor Hanson, Ezra Frech, Amber Glenn, Connor Wood, Sarah Jane Nader, Tyler Cameron, Giada De Laurentiis, Harry Shum Jr., Conner Leavitt, Guillermo Rodriguez, Maura Higgins, Ciara Miller and Jackson Olson.
The season features several performers with dance or athletic backgrounds. Dewan, who will compete with Val Chmerkovskiy, began her career as a professional dancer before becoming known for “Step Up” and television roles including “The Rookie.” Shum, paired with Jenna Johnson, also has extensive dance experience from his work on “Glee” and the “Step Up” films. Olympic figure skating champion Amber Glenn will dance with Pasha Pashkov, while Paralympic gold medalist Ezra Frech is partnered with Daniella Karagach. Hanson singer Taylor Hanson will compete with Britt Stewart, while Stiles, known for “10 Things I Hate About You” and “Save the Last Dance,” will dance with Ezra Sosa.
The remaining competitors bring a mix of reality television, entertainment and digital-media experience to the ballroom. “The Bachelorette” alum Tyler Cameron is paired with returning professional Sharna Burgess, while “The Traitors” runner-up Maura Higgins will dance with Mark Ballas. “Summer House” star Ciara Miller is partnered with Brandon Armstrong, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” personality Conner Leavitt with newcomer Adele Zaikman, and “Love Thy Nader” star Sarah Jane Nader with new pro Hailey Bills. Savannah Bananas player and entertainer Jackson Olson will compete with Emma Slater, comedian and podcaster Connor Wood with Rylee Arnold, and longtime “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” personality Guillermo Rodriguez with reigning champion Witney Carson. De Laurentiis, the Emmy-winning chef and Food Network personality, will dance with Alan Bersten.
The professional lineup also includes returning favorites such as Daniella Karagach, Mark Ballas, Jenna Johnson and Witney Carson, along with Zaikman and Bills joining the main professional cast. Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough are returning as judges, while Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough remain co-hosts. Season 34 champion Robert Irwin is also set to host a live “DWTS After Party” special following the second night of the premiere, while Andy Richter will take over hosting duties for the official podcast.
Season 35 will begin with a two-night premiere Sept. 15 and 16 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with episodes available to stream on Hulu the following day.
