Prime Video has released the official trailer for “The Greatest,” an upcoming biographical drama chronicling the life and legacy of boxing legend Muhammad Ali. The series follows Ali from his early years as Cassius Clay in Louisville, Kentucky, through the personal, professional and political challenges that helped shape his career and influence beyond the ring.
Jaalen Best stars as Ali in the first authorized scripted series about the heavyweight champion, with the cast also including Omari Hardwick as Ali’s father, Cassius Clay Sr.; Dana Gourrier as his mother, Odessa “Bird” Clay; Amin Joseph as boxer Sonny Liston; Giovanni Ribisi as trainer Angelo Dundee; and Michael Ealy as civil rights leader Malcolm X.
‘The Greatest’ explores Ali’s rise to international fame while examining the relationships, personal struggles and convictions behind his public persona. The production aims to present a broader portrait of Ali as an athlete, humanitarian, husband, father and cultural figure.
Ben Watkins, creator and showrunner of the series, also serves as an executive producer, along with Ali’s widow, Lonnie Ali. All episodes of “The Greatest” will be available in more than 240 countries and territories through Prime Video, beginning Nov. 4. Watch the trailer: HERE.
